You will also get to read the news of the recent recognition of Hong Kong International Airport for its air cargo proficiency by Airport Council International. Furthermore, the selection of news headlines will keep you posted on the latest happenings in the supply chain sector. The article on client retention strategies comes with many handy tips that will help you retain your customers.
Additionally, you will get to read a brief overview of our International Transportation and Trade course that several members have taken and successfully completed.
Before concluding, I would like to remind you once again about the importance of sharing a portion of your shipments with your network partners. Remember that your cooperation will be amply rewarded by the business you receive from the other members.

President and Founder - Globalia Logistics Network
Members from over 194 cities are getting ready to take part in Globalia Logistics Network’s 4th Annual Meeting at Phuket, Thailand. Keep an eye on this section to find out how Globalia’s one-to-one meetings can strengthen the bottom line of your business.
In order to survive the rising competition in today’s market, you must focus on building strong and sustainable relationships that would help to advance your brand as well as your profits. In Globalia’s 4th Annual Meeting, you will be able to have up to 32 one-to-one meetings with those members you are interested in deepening the relationship. With One-to-One Meetings, you will also benefit from:
A one-to-one discussion with your network partner can go a long way toward winning new projects. The one-to-one meetings are meant to heighten your networking activities so as to help you land new projects in collaboration with your partners.
In spite of the innovations in communications, nothing can substitute the impact of one-to-one meetings. The face-to-face meetings will help you communicate clearly and concisely with your partners, foster a collaborative environment, and of course, enhance trust and credibility. The environment in which our meetings are held will also boost innovation and engagement which are vital for closing a deal with your partner.
As per a survey by Forbes, 85% of business executives prefer faceto-
face conferences as they lead to stronger and more meaningful
business relationships. Moreover, in-person conferences also come
with several group activities that further help in the strengthening
of social bonds. For example, during Globalia’s Annual Meetings
apart from the business meetings, members also get the chance
to meet and interact under less formal circumstances. The cocktail
reception, the dinner party, and the day trip are some of the informal
activities that are also vital for strengthening the ties among the
network members.
You need to grasp the simple fact that networking is crucial for the
growth of your company and therefore you need to think of it as
another investment in your business rather than a recurring expense.
Here are a few suggestions to ensure a smooth outcome of your one-to-ones.
Globalia’s Instagram page will come with photos and videos from the network that followers can view on the go from their mobile devices.
Globalia Logistics Network, an international freight forwarding network with members from 194 cities, has recently launched their Instagram page. This new social media handle will help to further enlarge the audience base of the logistics network and enable them to reach out to potential agents in the future. Additionally, their strong social media presence will also keep their followers updated, and add to their digital visibility.
Globalia Logistics Network has always had a strong presence on social media with handles on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and more recently Instagram. Every week Globalia posts the news from the network and its members on their social media handles to keep their followers updated. Moreover, they make sure to post the news about the achievements of their agents which in turn promotes the members and increases their online presence.
As stated by Maria Serrano, Globalia’s PR and Event Coordinator, "We firmly believe that an active presence across a number of social media platforms greats helps to expand the outreach of our network. Moreover, these days the audience is more reliant on audio-visual platforms like Instagram for their daily dose of news and this is precisely why we have decided to be active on this platform."
Globalia Logistics Network has opened an online academy for their members to enhance their skills, become more efficient and prepare themselves to take up greater responsibilities.
With the aim of broadening the agents’ skills and knowledge, Globalia Logistics Network has launched its freight forwarding courses. In order to provide the most efficient training material, Globalia has partnered with the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA), one of the leading logistics course providers, and Container xChange – a neutral online platform, used by 600+ freight forwarders who is offering a wide range of training material regarding the leasing container industry.
Globalia Logistics Network has inaugurated its online academy with the International Transportation and Trade Course and it has been an outstanding success. More than 20 students have enrolled and over 80% have already been certified. The main aim of this course is to help the participants reach new goals and confidence while boosting their productivity, enhancing their skills and even preparing them for greater responsibilities. The International Transportation and Trade Course is about the foundations of international freight forwarding, how to manage risks by selecting the appropriate Incoterm, how to calculate freight charges and load shipments, types of equipment and documentation used to move goods.
Antonio Torres, President and Founder of Globalia states: "We have opened our online academy with the intention of providing our agents with a platform for inspiring educational courses that will enable them to set the international standard in their everyday shipping and logistics operations. We are delighted to have had this high demand among our members and very proud of the obtained results. We really hope that we will keep this high level in future courses."
The Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA) is a course provider with more than 60 years of experience in logistics learning. The courses they offer are suitable for supply chain professionals who want to upgrade their knowledge base, and also for newcomers to this industry who want to take a deeper dive into the vast subject of transportation and logistics management.
Apart from the International Transportation and Trade Course, Globalia is also offering the Essentials of Freight Forwarding Course provided by CIFFA . This course will instruct the participants on multiple themes including export packaging, warehousing, document preparation or cargo insurance and it has already opened its registration.
Globalia has also established a partnership with Container xChange in order to offer a SOC Masterclass for members to understand the leasing container industry. The SOC Container Masterclass is provided as a complement to the other two courses. It consists of an “everything-you-need-toknow” course about handling Shipper Owned Containers.
The specially designed online training courses are helping Globalia members to cope with the industry challenges and confidently execute complex logistical procedures. Furthermore, upgrading the work skills will also allow them to stay updated with the industry changes, take the necessary measures to bypass any obstacles in the process of successful execution of a project, and provide better customer service.
This has been made possible by the rise in air freight operations of the awardwinning airlines Cathay Pacific which uses the Hong Kong Airport as its hub

This carrier connects the airport to 46 destinations internationally.
The dedicated Cathay Pacific terminal at the HK Airport which has considerably expanded in the last few years presently offers a yearly throughput capacity of 2.6 M tonnes. Moreover, this Hong Kong based carrier has significantly improved its efficiency, reliability, and customer experience by providing value-added end-to-end air freight services.

Brussels Airport is gearing up to refurbish its cargo handling area so as to meet the rising demand for handling and storage space. Additionally, this airport has adopted a new strategy to come up as one of the prime airport business districts of the continent. By early 2025, they are planning to build three new buildings with parking spaces in their cargo zone called Brucargo Central.
This project which will span over an area of 83,000 square meters will allow the airport authorities to attract new businesses and offer their partners warehousing services and larger, more efficient, and more sustainable offices. Additionally, sustainability is a strategic priority of Brussel Airport’s infrastructure development project. They are working towards the implementation of sustainable aviation fuel and electric ground handling material.
This airport is one of the fastest-growing air cargo hubs and one of the most important hubs for pharmaceutical shipments. Although the prospect of acquiring new clients is certainly attractive, keeping your clients coming back to you will lead to a larger profit since it costs you nil. However, in order to make your customers come back to you for their future logistical requirements, you need to put in place a well-thought-out customer retention strategy that will keep your clients contented and engaged. In this article, we will take you through several important tips to enhance your level of customer retention by inspiring brand loyalty.
OFFER A CUSTOMIZED CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE A key factor that distinguishes multinationals in the logistics sector from independent freight forwarders is the ability of the latter to provide a personalized customer experience. This is precisely why your customers seek out your services which is why you should not offer generic logistical solutions to all your clients. Personalized services have a strong impact on your customer relationships and encourage your customers to come back to you because of your attentiveness.
CREATE TRUST WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS
There are two things you need to keep in
mind when it comes to building trust with
your clients. Firstly, remember that trust
is never built in a day. Secondly, do not
presume that your clients trust you just
because they are doing business with you.
Trust can be defined as a deep faith in the
credibility, capability, honesty, and strength
of your organization. Trustworthiness is an
important factor in trust building so put in
some effort towards delivering value to your
clients.
GET FEEDBACK FROM YOUR CLIENTS
It is hard to enhance your level of service
unless you don’t know how your customers
are perceiving it. Sometimes, criticism is the
best form of self-improvement. In order to
bring your customers back to you, you need
to initiate a process of getting client feedback
and sharing the same with your entire
team. The easiest way of doing this is to
collect, analyse and share the client reviews.
Moreover, conducting client satisfaction
surveys is also an excellent way of getting
your customers’ honest opinions about your
services so that you can improve them as per
your customers’ expectations.
MAKE USE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE TOOLS
As an independent freight forwarder, you
need to make their first impression with your
company count. Your client is more likely to
recall any customer service hitches in their
first onboarding. Therefore, you need to avoid
possible hitches on their first encounter with
your team otherwise they might find another
logistics service provider. Additionally, you
need to take special care of the details of the
service which includes timely email/message
triggers, follow-ups, and suggestions.
