The shipment that was sent from Portugal to Tunisia necessitated the use of specialized equipment
Sunvilog, Globalia member in Porto, Portugal, has efficiently transported a drying station system from Portugal to Tunisia. With over 25 years of experience, they expertly handled the complex shipment involving multiple stages and specialized equipment. This operation highlighted their skill to manage complex shipments and and delivering innovative services.
The shipment originated in Portugal and was destined for Sfax, Tunisia. The drying station system, a sizable and intricate piece of equipment, required meticulous planning and coordination. Jose Carlos Silva, Manager at Sunvilog, detailed the specifics of the shipment: “We utilized 40′ Open Top (OT) and Flat Rack (FR) container due to the dimensions of the cargo, which required special inland transport arrangements.”
The team arranged special inland transport for the oversized cargo, loaded it onto a flat rack, and then transported it to the departure harbor in Portugal. From there, Maersk ensured the shipment’s safe passage to Sfax, Tunisia.
Sunvilog, which provides air, maritime, express, and land transport solutions, additionally supported this shipment with lashing, securing, and packaging. ‘We loaded all the cargo in a single shipment, making all necessary arrangements, including special inland transport, cranes, lashing, and more,’ Silva explained. “The complexity of the operation required careful coordination and expert handling to ensure the safety and integrity of the cargo throughout the journey.”
This shipment presented several challenges, particularly due to the size and weight of the drying station system. However, their experience and thorough planning ensured a smooth and successful transport.
Congratulations to Globalia Porto for successfully handling this complicated cargo!
