2. Shanghai Port

This is yet another busiest port in the world in terms of cargo tonnage. This port which acts both as a river port and a deep sea port sprawls over an area of 3,619.6 square Km. The Shanghai Port which used to be the world’s largest port 10 years back is largely responsible for the rapid economic growth of the city of Shanghai.

3. Hong Kong Port

One of the most important ports in Eastern Asia, Hong Kong Port provides around 400 container liner services per week to over 500 ports across the world. This port which used to be the busiest port in the world back in 1987, presently offers 9 container terminals, dry docks, slipways, anchorages and repairing facilities for vessels of all kinds.

4. Shenzhen Port

This port which lies south of the Pearl River delta in the Guangdong province of China, is basically a conglomeration of several ports that dots the coastline of Shenzhen. The Shenzhen port has launched 130 container lines and more than 40 shipping companies are headquartered in this port.

5. Busan Port

The Port of Busan at the mouth of the Naktong River is the 5^th busiest container port in the world. The Busan Port Authority which manages and operates this port is all set to transform it into a world-class port.

6. Ningbo Port

One of the oldest ports of China, Ningbo Port was established as early as 738 AD. This deep-water port comes with numerous locational advantages such as mild current, huge harbour area, small waves and more. Recently this port made it to the news because of its merger with the Port of Zhoushan.

7. Port of Guangzhou

The Guangzhou Port is the largest hub port in South China which comes with 49 berths, 13 buoys and 23 anchorages. It connects to over 300 ports in more than 80 regions and countries and is the most important transport hub for provinces like Sichuan, Hunan, Hubei, Yunnan, Guizhou, Jiangxi, and Guangxi.

10. Port of Rotterdam
